FUSED AND GETTIN' SOME SPACE AT CEDARS
Since everyone is asking...I've been suffering with intense back pain for almost 5 years. During that time, I did 2 epidurals, PT, chiro, acupuncture, massage, yoga, Pilates, stretch class, and lost 25 lbs. Unfortunately, there weren't long term solutions. After the astonishing results and reality of my MRI 2 months ago, surgery was my last resort. I had 3 herniated discs, 2 bulging discs,1 slipping disc, and 2 fractures on my vertebrae. We're assuming that it's from 30 years of dancing and tumbling hardcore. Today I had a fusion of my L3 and L4 and a compression spacer put in between my L4 and L5. The post op is no joke. Ugh. But I'm confident that I'm gonna feel better than ever!! I got an album to promote and film fests to attend. I've worked too hard last year to not make the of most of THIS year!! I'm gonna have a fucking awesome 2015!! So there!! :)
Oh and this is my very first stay in a hospital!! Stay tuned for my progress...
Thanks for your love and support!! It means a lot!
I had been thinking about starting a blog a few years ago; yet it never seemed to happen. Life got busy w/ commitments, new projects, ailing pets, etc. With my upcoming album and short film about to be released, I thought this could be the perfect time to vent. I thought I could offer up some insight into my world or maybe just give myself a forum to rant for a few paragraphs.
About a month or so ago, I released the first preview of my upcoming project onto the internet. The video got some great hits in its first week. I was thrilled. It was posted on some really awesome sites which helped propel the views upward. I made the mistake of disobeying the rules of my publicist who always warned me to never read comments that people post about me online. He repeatedly told me that there were alot of cruel people out there that love to spew hate all over the net for no apparent reason. It had been awhile since I released something new so I was anxious to get some feedback on what I had been working so hard on this past year. So for a brief moment, I sorta forgot that rule and I happened to peak at some of things people were saying about the new single/video. While most of it was favorable, there were those handful of nasty, hateful, senseless comments saying the most horrible of things. Look, I came to terms awhile ago that not everyone will like my music. I am totally cool with that. All art is subjective. I don't care for everything either. Such is life. Even if I absolutely loathed what I was witnessing, I would never even contemplate posting something the least bit hurtful or blatantly ugly. What is the damn point?! What or who does that serve?? I imagine it makes whoever is doing these sort of things feel powerful for a moment? I have never been able to figure out what drives someone to say such unwarranted and unnecessarily mean things about another human being in such a public way. I don't know if I'll ever really get it. What's even more shocking is that the majority of comments seem to be coming from within my own community. You know, we've all had to endure alot of name calling and bullying for alot of our lives. Isn't it past time to stop this shit? If you don't like me, my music, the way I look, the way I sing, fine. It's all good. Then don't look at me, don't listen to me, don't give me the time of day. I'll be ok with that. But I'm sick of these cowards that sit behind their anonymity and their damn computer screens all day and continually add to the depressing state our world is already in. Enough already. I'm not just speaking of the things that are being said about me; but just in general. Get a fucking life...or at least a hobby. Take all that energy flowing out of your typing fingers and actually do something positive that contributes to our community. Take all that hate and channel it into something good, perhaps even inspire someone. Stop senselessly knocking people down and start lifting one another up. It's ok if u don't like something...it's just most of us don't wanna hear about it. If u must, start a blog.
